| HOW DOES IT WORKS ? |
ABC Families is an on-line service, an internet site, that puts families in contact with the perfect person to look after their child(ren), whether it be an au-pair, nanny, babysitter or language tutor.
www.ABC-Families.com has created a search engine that helps families to easily navigate amongst the different candidates, and to make their own choice. Each family defines its needs on line and it is the family itself that employs the chosen person.
The site is user friendly with much information about both candidates and families, very useful for those looking for childcare or work within the European Community.
The ABC Families team is made up of people who have previously been au pairs and/or parents, who carefully follow the requests coming from families and candidates. The team members are from England, France and Spain.
The information on the site is available in English, French, German and Spanish.
Type of Childcare
ABC Families can help you to find someone to look after your child(ren) on a part time, full time or occasional basis – whatever your needs may be!
The candidates may be male or female, childcare professionals or students looking for a permanent job or one during their free time for example in the evenings, at weekends or during school holidays.
There are also many people looking for au-pair contracts: foreign students aged from 18 to 30 years who live with the family for a maximum of 18 months. An au-pair looks after the children for 30 hours a week and also takes language lessons (at least 10 hours a week), in a language school or university recognized by the country’s administration.

| SELECTION OF CANDIDATS/FAMILIES |
Many families and candidates communicate their needs on the internet site and the ABC Families team follows each request.
Before publication of each profile, a member of the ABC Families team studies the person’s profile and may also check up on information and references given in the CV. In some cases families and candidates may be interviewed.
It is important to mention that unfortunately not all of the contact files are controlled, but ABC Families does try its very best to publish only those that are reliable.
ABC Families may not be held responsible for a candidate’s behavior when with the family or on other occasions. Likewise, ABC Families may not be held responsible for the way a family may behave.
A family or candidate profile may be deleted at any time if it does not fit in with the values and requirements of the ABC Families management. ABC Families has the right to refuse an subscription request.
Understanding the needs of parents to find someone to look after their child(ren) or to teach them (in) a specific language, and the wishes of adults to make the most of a childcare job, especially as an au-pair, to visit countries that they cherish or would like to discover, www.ABC-Families.com has decided to turn its internet site into a place where needs can be shared and met, by families and candidates, within the European Community.

| FUNCTIONALITIES |

With the help of an « Alert » service, a member (family or candidate), may send an alert message free of charge to inform someone else that their profile is of interest to them. If the member contacted is also interested, only one must be a premium member for them both to receive the other’s contact details. In most cases it is the families that pay to receive a candidate’s contact information.
