Cheerful, confident au pair required in navan, ireland

Hello,

We're a small family from Navan, which is 40 minutes drive from Dublin. We are relaxed and easy-going, and we like to travel a lot. We have a holiday home in the West of Ireland, and you would be welcome to join us there at weekends if you wish.

Navan is a typical Irish town, with a swimming pool, library, theatre and a lively pub scene. Traditional Irish music classes take place a few minutes walk from our house if you would like to learn. English classes are available in the town or if you prefer, there is a regular bus service to Dublin.

My son is 3 and a half, and will be going to creche 2 days per week. I would need you to bring him there and collect him occasionally, but usually at least one of those days would be free. You would look after him the other days. I have a daughter of 17 years, who is studying French and she would welcome the opportunity to practice. I occasionally travel on business for 3-4 days and you would be responsible for running the household in my absence.

Most Sundays would be entirely free, but I would require you to stay home one weekend a month, and obviously if I am traveling. One or two full weekends a month could be free by arrangement if you want to visit other parts of Ireland. The usual housework is expected, tidying up, laundry, etc, and the ability to cook would be essential. You would have sole charge of my son overnight sometimes.

If you don't make friends easily or would find it difficult to be in the house on your own, this probably isn't the position for you, but if you're independent and confident and know what you want out of life please contact us. Driving is not required but would be a bonus.
