American au pair

Dear family, i really enjoy looking after children and would love to share my culture and learn more about the french culture from the family i would work for. i am very confident working with children of all ages, as i have over 12 years of childcare experience. being an au pair would help me build my french speaking skills as well as help the children with their english speaking skills. i am moving to france in september to live with my french boyfriend while he finishes university. i know just the basics of the french language, but would really love to learn to speak fluently. i enjoy traveling very much. i spent a semester in japan studying and a summer studying in korea. i have stayed with my boyfriend and his family for 2 and 1/2 months in a small town outside of lyon called tournon sur rhone. i had the opportunity to visit lyon, paris, and saint tropoez and fell in love with france. apart from my interests in traveling i enjoy cooking, many different genres of music, art, and history. i am graduating in may 2011 from my university with a bachelors in psychology & history. i plan to return to school someday to get my ph d in clinical psychology. it would be my pleasure to come work with you and your children to have a cultural and language exchange. i am very responsible, reliable, and a very hard worker. i can't wait to meet you! please see below a descripction of my work experience: june 2007 – december 2007 swim instructor, swimtastic swim school – mequon, wi created lesson plans incorporating swimtastic method, taught swimming children ages six month to twelve years, group instructor and individual instructor. summer 2008 attended summer school, and nannied for one and three year old summer 2009 may 2008-present nanny/swim instructor – part time job supervise, transport and coordinate activities for 2 children under the age of four. taught both children individually important swimming skills including water safety. performed basic household duties including, cooking, shopping, and cleaning as requested. * bachelor's degree in psychology as of may 2011 with a minor in history.
